The Manor has for a number of years been used in the telecoms industry to construct masts to take advantage of the open aspect to transfer radio waves across the Pennines.

There is a substantial TV mast on Windy Hill adjacent to the

M62 Rishworth Junction 19. This was constructed on Manor

land and subsequently transferred to the end user in the

1960’s.Other masts include Orange/EE mast and a smaller

masts used by emergency services on Hunger Hill.
